It's Back - Day 1

407 comments:

  1. Anyone know the scoop on why the old blog was deleted?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Well apparently craftycardshark is being credited with having it shut down according to certifiablynutty and djanuary.

    ReplyDelete
  3. hopefully the unicorns can live in blissful ignorance and think they succeeded! Viva La Smackers!

    ReplyDelete
  4. "From cknutti on PTI forum

I'd love to see some personal and individual apologies, but that might be asking too much"

How about she starts? Like apologizing for being a pretentious douche. I swear she lives on that forum with the number of posts she makes each day.

    ReplyDelete
  5. "having it shut down"? What did she do? Or says she did?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Agghh I hate PTI even more now. Those brown-nosing sheeple are real pieces of work. They so fervently defend this company, as if Heifer Heady is their BFF.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Ted is such a moran, he pretends as if he has never seen the blog, yet he just happens to use "pricecheck" as an example. I SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU CREEP!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am boycotting the forum because it raises my blood pressure too much to read all that self-righteousness.

I enjoy smacking PTI's business practices and CRAPPY CS but I really, REALLY, hate using the c-word to describe woman. So, with that, maybe we could refrain a bit? Pwetty pwease? Wiff bwownies on top??

    ReplyDelete
  9. Try again - cdjks here - I had two posts on the old board, both purely factual. (One replying about Hottie Hubs being a referee, and one about the meaning of "Switzerland".) Find another target.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I can be anyone I want on the internet!

    ReplyDelete
  11. ^^^And I really hate it when a grown woman talks like a baby, so maybe YOU can refrain a bit?

    ReplyDelete
  12. See how much posting under a name means here?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Courage is my middle name.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think it was sky nacho. She's a wus.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Realy cdjks??

Considering you posted this today on the PTI Forum I am surprised that you've come back, and you found the new board so quickly, you ole' smacker you!

I agree with you. The name-calling that is going on over there is atrocious. The worst of it is a couple of words that I can't imagine why any woman would even consider using them towards another woman. They're ugly words. If my husband ever called me either of them, lawyers would probably be called, and if a friend ever used one of them towards me, we would definitely no longer be friends. I think the people I've encountered in my entire life who'd ever use those words to refer to another person could be counted on one hand. So yes, I think the vast majority of the ugliness there is probably being said by a single person.

I read the smack blog for a little while, because of frustration with the well-documented PTI problems. I found that it's not a productive place for me to be, it's not solving any problems, and I don't need to be polluting my brain with the trash over there.

  16. I will say that I don't think Denise set out to scam people - I can understand how life gets away from you. She came out publicly and apologized and made things right, right? I don't think someone scamming people would do that and continue to be a presence in the forum. I wish people would stop calling her out on what seems to have been a mistake. I also hope that we can forgive pti when and if they make positive changes - for most of us, the point of venting is to effect change so that we can purchase PTi products again.

And no, I am not Denise, and not a unicorn.

  17. This comment has been removed by the author.

  18. I would never talk smack anonymously. I have far too much integrity for that. Just ask that one lady who had a tough time receiving the goods she paid me for on the PTI message board.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I give Ted a lot of credit for standing with those who had CS issues and for being tactful while doing it.

He used to drive me CRAZY with his PTI brown-nosing, but I think his rose colored glasses have come off. I'm finding his posts far more enjoyable to read because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. cknutti has just proclaimed herself to be "Miss Congeniality"

    *puke*

    ReplyDelete
  21. I agree, I love to smack PTI - the company, can we please rein in the use of the c-word.

With whipped cream and a cherry on top!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, what's up with that? I'm starting to like Ted's posts more now too!

    ReplyDelete
  23. 6:08, I agree. I'll stop smacking Denise for the past issue. Also, I think she sold a bunch of things recently without incident.

I will smack her for being an insufferable unicorn, though!

    ReplyDelete
  24. ^^^directed at 6:08 #2.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't know why people are so upset about what is in the comments of a smack blog. It is smack. So what? How can this possibly impact your day to day life?????

    ReplyDelete
  26. the blog hasn't been shut down, it's up again. but all the posts were removed.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I like Ted's posts now too.

    ReplyDelete
  28. And I think it was taken down because of all the attention it was getting on that one stupid thread at the forum. I'd take it down to protect it temporarily too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. How cknutti can now understand so much more about anything from knowing that a smack blog exists but never having read it blows my mind.

So since she obviously has mind-reading abilities, I'll ask her here and anxiously await her answer in a lengthy self-righteous post on the forum -- cknutti, who is it that is supposed to apologize to whom about what and why do you feel as though you should be self appointed to solicit apologies?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Where is LICE GIRL???

    ReplyDelete
  31. Isn't it funny how they all say they have never heard of the smack blogs until that thread. And they all "just out of curiosity" had to take a visit. And then they all state that they will never return. Yeah riiiight!! You all know they have bookmarked the blog and will be checking in regularly.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Certifiable has crowned herself the board's ambassador of goodwill. It sounds from that "I expect apologies" post that we need to submit them personally to her most righteous highness herself. I think Princess Nichole is going to have to smack her down a bit before these delusions of grandeur get out of control.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't think it hit them yet that the board is back up.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I never thought I'd say this, but:

    I <3 Ted.

I think he gently smacked the self-congratulators and kindly told them to STFU.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm afraid to go over there and like Ted, but what thread are we talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  36. What are all those rambly posts by Cindy about on that thread? Much of it makes no sense. I think she fancies herself some kind of creative writer. She doesn't even know the difference between then and than. lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. Honestly, I've never understood all of the Ted hate. And, I don't know anything about the Denise situation.

I've thought about this for a few minutes last night and again when I went over to PTI tonight. I'm left feeling like people think I'm a bad person because I use a little profanity. Quite frankly, I don't trust a person that doesn't curse. My mother is a uber Christian, and even she uses profanity. Anyone that acts as if they're above it bother me. I'm tempted to post that just because I find some things said here hilarious and because I like to use the word, fuck, does not mean I'm a bad person. I happen to be extremely nice and giving and even though I think a lot of you are fake as hell, if you needed something from me, I'd give it in a heartbeat.

    So fucking pissed . . .

    ReplyDelete
  38. Eh, Trell, don't bother. Ranting at those delicate little flowers will not change their closed little minds.

Why do I get the feeling that some of these women who are so terribly offended by the blog are the ones who try to get books banned from the library? ANYTHING that doesn't agree with their view of the world (which tends to be an upper middle class Christian white lady view) is wrong, evil and nasty, according to these ladies.

    Lordy be!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ok, I'm late to the party but why was the other blog pulled?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I posted this on the other blog but never got a chance to see if anyone answered me before it was shut down--what's the deal with shipping orders at this point? I placed a very small order on the 17th and my cc has been charged but I never got a confirmation email and no shipping notice yet. How long is it taking these days??

    ReplyDelete
  41. 3:51 I think some people who placed very early orders have reported receiving orders quickly. I've pretty much stopped going to the PTI board so I haven't kept up with shipping beyond those early comments. The fact that you're asking means nothing has changed re: shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  42. OK so that new girl wants a sample of EVERY paper and die cut ??!!??!!

Some people have no shame - she's not even offering to pay postage or send them a token of thanks.

Debbie pops in and says why not print the try bfore you buy paper and she responds that she's frugal ??!!???!!

You're cheap, but you want us all to be generous. Whatever

    ReplyDelete
  43. Cracks me up that people on the forums are posting with advice NOT to post about the smack blog. Keep bumping ladies!

And I agree with Trell. I don't trust folks that don't have at least one public vice. Makes me wonder what they're hiding! Trell I'd take you and your mama in my lifeboat any day over those fakies on the PTI board.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I placed a release order. I just got my shipping notice last night. It had a tracking number that I checked with USPS and it said that the package was not received. So, a week after the order and the package has not been shipped. It's going to be 2 weeks for me to get this package. They aren't working on anything behind the scenes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I placed my order on release night, 12:06, and received my package yesterday. So not bad. Though my last order, placed two months ago at 12:07, took almost 3 weeks to get here.

    ReplyDelete
  46. What happened to her I killed the blog thread? Was it deleted?

    November 22, 2011 7:29 AM

She made a thread about it? Really???? lol

I don't trust anyone who edits or deletes their posts.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Doesn't seem like too many have found their way here yet?

    ReplyDelete
  48. A lot of them probably didn't know to go back to the original smack blog to see what was happening.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm not a fan of the personal attacks and over the top cussing on any of the smack boards, but I do appreciate a place to discuss PTI in a real way. Hoping to find some like-minded folks on this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't like the personal attacks either. Maybe we will get lucky and Lice Girl won't find her way here.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I wonder who LiceGirl really is?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well I finally got a shipping notice today but when I try to track it, the USPS site says it doesn't exist. I just don't understand the difficulty that PTI has in shipping and communicating. I know, I know, it's been said before but I just need to vent.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Vent away! That's why we're here.

I wish I knew who Lice Girl was too. I'd steer clear of her. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ooh, I am not happy right now!
While checking out my blog stats tonight I saw that several people linked to my blog from a certain thread on the PTI board.
It has come to my attention since reading the old smack board-thanks to being lead to it from all the discussion on PTI- before it was deleted that particular thread was a "coming out" for some smackers.
I think it is unfortunate that other people have been dragged into looking like they were smackers because they had no idea what was going on.
    Just stop it all!

    ReplyDelete
  55. 12:16. Are you trying to say someone outed you as a smacker, but you had never read a smack blog before? How do you know what was said in a deleted thread? Better check my stats now. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't mind Lice Girl. If you don't like certain comments, then dammit don't read them.

The whole point of a smack blog is to have a forum for open, UNcensored, discussions. Just because she may be more over the top than you'd like, doesn't mean she shouldn't be allowed to voice her opinions without being "called out" also.

I have never personally insulted anyone because I've been personally insulted on these boards before. No, it doesn't feel good, but I really can't take it personally. Just like I don't take it personally when I know there are ppl in "real life" who talk about me behind my back. I don't condone it, but I'm not their mother. They'll get what's due to them on their own.

One thing I hate is a smack board filled with hand slappers. If you want a product-focused forum, then go start one. If that's what this place is meant to be (I haven't seen any postings suggesting that), then I'll see myself out. But last I checked, this is an effing SMACK blog.

    For crying out loud....

    ReplyDelete
  57. This is our blog and we'll smack if we want too(earworm TOTALLY intended)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Count me in as one who likes Lice Girl.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I don't mind lice girl or the bad language either. If something offends me, I just skip it and move on. That being said, I would like to see this be more about PTI and less about individuals though I'll never call someone out about it.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I liked licegirl too! She kept it real, so what if she thrown in some colorful words.

    ReplyDelete
  61. And let the Quatrafoil Die issues begin. Didn't someone call that on the first PTI Smack blog???

    http://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=25763

In all honesty, I just want this blog to be about holding PTI accountable for their shitty business practices! I LOVE their products but I refuse to give them any of my money. I haven't purchased since July and I won't purchase again until they get their shit together.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I don't mind lice girl either, but there's still the the chance that this place goes the way of ptismack and the smackcenter.

    For those interested...
    ptismacklite.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete
  63. I don't have any problems with licegirl either. I'm ok with the language - it's not that I haven't heard it or even used it. No virgin ears here. Like 11:53 said, it's about holding PTI accountable for and hopefully affecting some change to their business practices. I'd like to be able to feel comfortable giving them my money again but I'll never be so into a company again.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I am going to Smack Lite because I do have a problem with the language.
    I know, you'll miss me terribly. :-p

    ReplyDelete
  65. I agree with everything 8:42 said. There's too many pearl clutchers and church girls everywhere. Stop infiltrating everything and trying to shove your censorship based morals on everyone. This is a smack blog. If you have to handslap, you don't fucking belong here.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm pretty sure they know I post here because I don't feel like I need to post anonymously. I haven't said anything on the smack board that I wouldnt say over there. Generally speaking, I do filter myself. You're never going to see me call people cunts and what not. However, I do find it incredibly fulfilling and hilarious when other do. I have a warped sense of humor and I make not apologies for that.

The only person I have negative feelings toward at PTI is that cknutti. Homegirl is self righteous beyond belief and I'm still weighing whether or not I should give her the damn business publicly at PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yes, I noticed 2 threads on more defective dies. Quatrefoil and TT3. More trouble brewing in Rainbowville?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Same here Trell. She makes my fucking skin crawl.

Cknutti-ville reminds me of the mama kangaroo on the movie Horton Hears a Who...

    http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3951531520/tt0451079

Stirring up shit just to be heard.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Well PTI, where is YOUR Black Friday sale???? So nice of you to show appreciation to your customers. Off to shop on the HUNDREDS of other sites offering SALES!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. According to Nichole they don't have to do sales or clearance because they don't have a lot of mark up and already offer good prices as it is. Shitty service, but good prices. Mkay, whatev, Heif.

It's the 25th. I placed my order 10 days ago and it's JUST NOW at the Cincinnati USPS facility. It took them 10 DAYS to get my stuff out of their warehouse. UNBELIEVABLE. I mean worse than ever.

Did y'all notice the typo on the homepage? See the "what' new" section? WHAT' new. Where's the s? They forgot and s and added a comma to Willow. Boring smack, but still smack - ha.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Oh look at me, I typo'd about typos. They forgot AN s that should say. At least I'm not making money off what I write ;)

    ReplyDelete
  72. PTI is pathetic. Honestly I don't know why people keep spending money there and then have to wait forever for their purchase.

    PTI is a joke!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I really tried to spend $$$ @ PTI today (as you know black Friday puts us in the shopping mood) but nothing I wanted was in stock! Bad business move. Especially the Christmas items--when they finally do come back in, I won't want/need them anymore!

    ReplyDelete
  74. 6:45 - I just got my order yesterday. It took 10 days exactly, most of it spent in the PTI Warehouse. They truly are unbelievable when it comes to shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Can anyone say exactly what happened right before the original pti smack blog went on hiatus?

    ReplyDelete
  76. There was a lot of uproar from the forum members about the blog and how the smackers were being mean, and spiteful. Then others jumped on the bandwagon after they were "curious" and "only just discovered it" and "just looked at it once."

It was something else. Lots of people that seemed like they posted over here were posting how offended they were.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I just spent $60 at MFT on dies and a stamp set. Thanks to whomever posted about their sale!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm sure Nichole and her sheeple are pleased as punch that the other blog shut down. On the other hand, I hope Nichole realizes that all the uproar at least means people care about her company. It it gets very quiet, I'd be frightened if I were her. Silence means people just don't care, AT ALL, and have moved on.....

    ReplyDelete
  79. Still problems with anniversary sets after 6 months. Unbelievable!

    ReplyDelete
  80. ^^^ "Unbelievable!"...

    Not really.

    Sad, but true.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I just love how everyone found their conscience. Fakes.

    Six months is ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Well, lordy bees, Trell....whatever do you mean?!?!

    LOL!

I agree about the hypocrisy. I have never posted at the PTI boards and am not about to start now. Guess cknutti and her fucking cheering have been victorious.

    ReplyDelete
  83. not so much victorious, I don't think most care any longer....I spend my $ elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ooooh is just burns my balls that pti smacker closed shop, temporarily or not.

    I can't stand a fake.

I wonder if MP is over here. I sure hope she's not a fake, too.

    ReplyDelete
  85. 6:35 I totally agree, thats what I have done. So long PTI!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Agreed. I was so tired of all the bullshit at the forums. I left. I no longer order and I only check the smack blogs about once a week. Caring less and less about anything PTI.

  87. Class: Priority Mail®
    Service(s): Delivery Confirmation™
    Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on November 22, 2011 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Let's see - I ordered at 8:35 AM (MST) on the 15th, FINALLY got the shipping notice on the 21st, and just checked today and my package (of two stamp sets and four dies) is STILL not in the hands of the USPS. For CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

I seriously decided to order again, after several months' of abstaining - thought this might be a good time to give them another chance, especially in light of Nichole's BS statement about "changing things behind the scenes" and "hearing all of our concerns and complaints." But NOOOOOOO!!! Not a friggin' thing has changed with that mess of a company!! How stupid of me to believe for one second that that pile of drivel from Nichole was anything more than just WORDS. NO ACTION!! Duh! *smacking forehead*

I am now FOREVER over this crap. I will NEVER place another order with PTI. Last time I checked my rewards, I had spent nearly $1,800 at that place, and PTI can now KISS MY BUTT before I hand over another dime of my hard earned money. PTI, you are all nothing but a bunch of swindling, unethical, immoral, lying CROOKS!! And I am DONE with your crap!!

    Ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  88. The quietness, both here and at the board, is deafening. I do believe it is indicative that things have taken a dire turn. This is what so many of us warned about when the first cries of customer disatisfaction were heard. Oh, years ago. When PTI took the "customers are ignorant ruffians" approach to deal with unhappy people. Yay, before even the downturn in the economy made good CS the absolute survivor skill it is today. Nobody at PTI listened.

Despite recent comments, which amount to "too little, too late", NOTHING has changed. Customers are still ignorant ruffians, who have to be spoken down to, so that they understand their place. And so that they understand how very complicated it is to control inventory, label packages and hardest of all, actually get them into the mail. How very complicated it is to have an efficient website, proof-read stamp sentiments, keep and refer to computerized records of customers' purchases etc etc etc.

When the first cries were unceremoniously stamped out and shamed, with thread locks, cheer pressure, and orders to "take it to e-mail", many of us said it would come to this day. The day there would be no more rowdy complaints, because there would be no more customers to make them. And for a while, the complaining got louder and more frequent, it reached a crescendo.

It seemed, for a short, short while, that someone WAS listening, someone was going to take a long, hard, serious look at CS issues. Even I, one of the deepest cynics out there, began to pause and to hope. Wow, they are not closing the threads, they are letting people speak. Perhaps they are going to make changes. Oh, I was just as naive as the cheerleaders for those few hopeful moments. But nothing has changed. And nothing will change.

The silence, here and there is but a symptom of abject apathy. No one cares anymore. I stopped shopping there years ago. Many of you only recently stopped. But we all find out in our own time, this amazing thing. That really isn't so amazing, because eleswhere, it is called "business as usual".

Amazingly, there are oodles of companies out there. They sell everything that PTI sells, and they manage, in some cases, much larger inventories. In addition, they keep AND refer to their computerized records of their customers' purchase histories. Their websites are user friendly and efficient. They not only manage to print shipping labels and slap them onto packages, but they actually ensure that said packages get mailed timely. Their shipping costs are competitive, but their shipping times are more marvellous still. They have, wait for it, SALES, once in a while, to reward and entice their customers. Because they have studied their buiness psychology 101 that tells them that the American shopper loves sales. They have rewards programs that work and don't rely on encumbering the customer with onerous tasks, hurdles, and obstacles.

In the end, it doesn't matter how cool your product is. If you cannot satisfy the unhappy customers that any business will inevitably get, you will be judged on that alone. Not fair, you say? Oh, then you must have missed Business 2.0...the customer is always right. Even the biggest asshole of a retard customer, is always right.

Graciously placating unhappy customers, regardless of blame, is that bitter lesson called "The Cost of Doing Business". All those other successful vendors (who now have your customers) learned this lesson. And learned it well.

The silence here is deafening because no one cares anymore. They won't go to your board and waste their breath anymore, because they know. They know their hard earned dollars will be better spent elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I ordered from Market Street Stamps during their black Friday sale, got a shipping notice in an HOUR, and received my package TODAY. Plus I was given the option of priority or first class. I picked first class, and STILL got it in 2 days. WOW.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Someone should repost that at the forum. Well written!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. WHOA! I was absent for a few weeks (because of knee surgery) and everything has changed! Well, except PTI and their business practices.

Like Trell, I post under my name because everything I say I will back up. I DO NOT like the personal attacks but I LOVE the PTI alternatives that were mentioned. AND I do think this site has made PTI aware of the discontent in a glaring way! That was the point, right?

With all that being said, I did chuckle when someone used the word TURD. That word is funny...

    ReplyDelete
  92. Great post, 1:16. The fact that earned anniversary sets are still not provided to customers 6 months after being earned speaks volumes. The fact that orders are taking 2 weeks to get to US customers speaks volumes.

PTI lies and has no intent of changing their business model. Despite large posts to the contrary.

Really sad because as we all know, the product is good.

    ReplyDelete
  93. From that idiot, designsbykathy on the latest shipping time forum:

"I agree. I ordered a 6:30 am on the 15th. Got an email on the 19th from PTI Customer Service saying my package was being shipped on the 21st, I also got an email from the website saying that my order was shipped with a tracking #. The package didn't ship until the 23rd and it arrived at the Post Office today. (I'm sure it would have been here on Saturday if not for the Holiday, but still it took 7 business days to ship out. That's not good at all. I did have 3 of the release items in my order (1 stamp set and 2 dies), and the rest was everyday PTI product.

Not very fast that it was almost 2 weeks from date of order. I too agree, I've been spoiled by other stamping retailers.

BUT I love PTI too much to leave! Love the clean and simple designs!"

    ....

Didn't take much for the endlessly yapping cheerleader to change her tune, huh? It's not like she's foaming at the mouth, but what happened to all of her doe eyed optimism? This idiot clogged the forum with her bullshit yapping for DAYS, and also handslapped quite a few of the complainers in the process.

But now she's not so happy?

Fuck her. It's too bad her stuff got to her in perfect condition. I was hoping she'd have some customer service problems she would not get help with from PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm addicted to the paper and the ribbons. Otherwise, I think I would move on. I've been really loving Wplus9 and I will have that Faire Isle set.

    ReplyDelete
  95. 8:26, that was a bit harsh. At one point we all loved PTI, too. Right?

    ReplyDelete
  96. Actually, 8:26, it wasn't harsh at all. That idiot was running around handslapping people who had legitimate complaints and now that she's got a gripe it's okay to express displeasure? Hahahah...

    ReplyDelete
  97. Has anyone found a replacement cardstock? Please share....that would be my last holdout with PTI. It's not really even the color choice so much as the weight/sturdiness of the paper.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think A Muse is a good match for colors with PTI. I believe I read some people's blogs saying the ink matches PTI paper, so I would think the A Muse paper would be a good match too?

  99. So my last order with PTI was in March. I felt enough was enough, so I stopped the madness! And then the November release came along and I *really* wanted Stitches & Swirls. After reading Nichole's crap on the forum about "changing things behind the scenes" and "hearing all of our concerns and complaints" I thought I would try one more time.

I completed my order at (Tue Nov 15 00:22:57 EST 2011) per my order receipt. Today is Tues Nov 29 and per UPS tracking, it should finally be delivered today. 2 weeks later! I am done.

And my only comment on the Anniversary set I earned: It wasn't received until October...

As the saying goes: Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...

  100. Sometimes I miss being a clueless newbie to the stamping world. All I saw were pretty cards and flashy supplies.

Now that I know how fake so much of it is, my cynicism is just overwhelming sometimes. I would *LIKE* to enjoy it, but when you have a company like PTI, and the fake 2-faced people like those whom have shown up in the forums and elsewhere, I'm starting to lose interest.

Every blog comment I get, I question why they are commenting. Every post I read, I question if they really mean it when they say, "lol" or "I'm so excited!". It all just seems so... faux.

Anyway, I still love making cards, but I'm tired of all of this crap that comes with it in the blog/online world.

    Just blabbing...

  101. Has anyone found a replacement cardstock? Please share....that would be my last holdout with PTI. It's not really even the color choice so much as the weight/sturdiness of the paper.

^^^ I have a lead on some. Contacted her on Saturday and she shipped them to me yesterday. Novel concept, I know. The weight is 100 and I am hoping it's not too big of a difference from the 110 of PTI. I asked for I think 5 colors that matched the PTI family of colors. I'll report back or do a little comparison on my blog when I get it.

^^^ I don't get a lot of people to my blog, so I figure if someone takes the time to comment, then they mean it. To that end when I am commenting on someone's blog, I make sure it's more than one word and I let them know what I liked about the project. However, on the PTI forum I figure anyone who comments at/to me is fake because I know what they really think of me ;)

  103. ^^^ I kind of miss the way things were when I was first starting out. I know ppl visited and commented b/c they loved sharing and seeing what I did, not just b/c my name is "out there". I dunno, it's just me being a skeptic right now.

I take mine with a grain of salt just because the most comments I get are during a release at the company I DT for, and if you comment on the DT blogs, you are entered to win a prize. Other days, I get no comments, or comments only from friends, so I know what's up. Not that I don't appreciate, but I know why they're there, and why they're talking, kwim?

    ReplyDelete
  106. @ Aeryn

Yea, but I guess b/c I'm on a couple of dt's and do other projects here and there, it's becoming difficult to tell the difference b/t the two.

    Oh well, no biggie.

  107. I have a lot of PTI cardstock but I'm liking the Hero Arts/Memory Box/A Muse (the later 2 brands I actually haven't tried) more. What I mean is I like the white on one side and the texture seems more professional. PTI cardstock is so thick if you do any layering, the card becomes too heavy! And it's harder to cut on my Cuttlebug.

I'd be curious to try the A Muse cardstock/inks. From blogs, they look beautiful and the colors are modern.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Oh I keep forgetting about Clear & Simple Stamps card stock.

Their cs is lighter weight, but I think they have heavier weights for their neutrals. Or maybe just white. But that is another company with great CS.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I know the site is hard to navigate (though I see they've changed up some labeling - good call) so here's a link to Clear & Simple Stamps:

  110. Me again- I personally haven't had any problems with my PTI orders, but I have not ordered after seeing what a mess they've made. I, in good conscience, can't until they make some changes. There is no way these people could drive the business into the ground, could they?

However, the designs are amazing. I am always impressed with the designers' work. They are very enabling. But I've held strong. You have to admit no other company can match the stamp and die designs.

Maybe Nicole needs to cut her losses and be bought out by a bigger company or manufacturer.

  111. Thanks to those with info on alternatives to PTI cardstock. I'll keep checking back to read your feedback.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I am VERY happy with the 110 lb cardstock I got at XpedX (thanks to a fellow smacker's recommendation). I dont have an alternative for colors though- but I use ALOT of neutrals.

    ReplyDelete
  113. What does it mean to get "a lot" of blog traffic? I am really just curious.

I don't think I get very much traffic each day, but I have nothing to compare it to.

    ReplyDelete
  119. one word: karma

Perhaps the people posting here feel that negativity will somehow make them feel better? Who knows ... all I can say is if you have time to post all these horrible things, you have too much time on your hands! You are not helping anyone, least of all yourselves.

  120. Hate? We're chatting about blog views and different brands of cardstock. ??? Seems ok to me.

  121. I'm trying to move on, but I want some letter dies. Any other options for those? I have a Big Shot.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Lifestyle Crafts (formerly known as QuicKutz) has very recently come out with some letter dies. I love their dies - they work amazingly!!

Trolls, go away - get a life, look in the mirror, give your head a shake - whatever it takes to spew your righteous bull*#($ somewhere else!! We don't care what you think of us, so move ON already!!

    ReplyDelete
  123. I have the diesel alphabet from Quickutz (now lifestyle) it has uppers and lower case, numbers and punctuation. I got it for a steal on ebay (brand new)... it cuts awesome and its a great size for cards AND scrapbooking. best.purchase.ever.

    ReplyDelete
  124. ucutathome.come is having a huge sale on their dies. Their were some alphabets on sale for$20-30, usually priced about $150+

    ReplyDelete
  125. Oops. Their=there. Just in case there's any spelling police here. :)

  126. What IS a lot of blog traffic?? Someone asked this question a few posts back and I've always wondered. I think I'm average at approx. 250 views/day and last month I had 6,400 views total.. BUT, I get very few comments (as in 1-4 on average) with a lot more when I'm doing blog hops. I, personally, don't comment on other's blogs because 100% of my blog reading is in Google reader and I don't venture out of it ever.. I feel bad, but I enjoy reading my blogs that way!

    ReplyDelete
  127. I have no idea what constitutes a lot of blog traffic.

If there are any "names" here, I'd love to hear what sort of traffic you are getting.

As for commenting, I don't do it regularly because I am not a fan of gratuitous comments. If I like something I'll say so. Otherwise, not.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I don't get that much blog traffic, but would love to have a bit more. I comment a lot on other blogs because if I take the time to click your link from my reader, then I like what I see!
I have a pretty popular project that was linked from a big site and get a lot of visitors on that particular post, but NO comments. It can't be that bad?

    ReplyDelete
  129. 9:51, I'm the same way. I will occasionally venture out of Google Reader if I see something that is particularly inspiring or something I want to pin. If I pin something from a blogger, I always comment since I'm there anyway.

All the issues with shipping again this month are making me shake my head sadly. Apparently the Heskamp crew has a powerful hold on PTI and they just aren't getting the message. Or rather, they don't care. Pisses me off because I really want to buy more stuff but I refuse until they *really* get their stuff together.

    ReplyDelete
  130. See, I don't feel bad about my views/followers and what have you cos of the readers. People could be coming, or looking at what I'm making, and just not "popping in" as it were. It's probably not true, but the thought of it makes me feel better. lol!

    ReplyDelete
  131. An uneventful day on the blog for me is 300-500 views, and anything over 1000 is usually when I'm participating in some bigger event (usually a magazine hop or something).

Over the years, as my hits have increased, my comments have decreased (unless there's an incentive). So I don't read into it very much.

I feel like I have a lot in comparison to when I first started, but probably not a lot in comparison to other "names" out there. Again, I don't put much stock into the numbers.

Oh, to the trolls... so nice of you to go through SO much trouble to find us here... only to tell us how different you are from us. Lol...

You should stay, it's actually quite amusing.

You can be our little jesters. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  132. Ucut@home has good deals on spellbinders (only) if you use their coupon BUT they have one of the worse terrible CS, they never contact you if an item is out of stock. The last time I ordered from them, and after 5 days of not hearing from them, I emailed them about the status of my order and they said it was oos. I decided to cancel the whole order. I won't order from them anymore; there are other options for spellbinders (7kids college, scrapmart, even HSN!)

    ReplyDelete
  133. I think you have to be a certain type of person to fit in at the PTI forum.

    ReplyDelete
  134. @Trell. Word. I don't fit in. But I don't care. And she doesn't fit in. She sticks out. Like a moran.

    ReplyDelete
  135. That's another good thing about being anonymous, EVERYONE fits in, as it should be.

    ReplyDelete
  136. No offense to Trell and any others that use their names.....

    ReplyDelete
  137. You can also get deals on Spellbinders at Overstock.com. The shipping is really low too!

    ReplyDelete
  138. In my REAL life (not my online life) I am the sassy, say-what-I-think type of person and no one is ever surprised when I tell it like it is, or tell someone off! I don't "come out" here on the blog NOT because I am afraid of my DT bosses looking down on me (they pretty much know the real me) but I am afraid that customers will think less of me and by extension less of the companies I work for if I am caught smacking here. If I wasn't on some major stamp DT's I would be here right alongside Trell and Aeryn.

    ReplyDelete
  139. For the poster that was looking for letter dies, ScrapAce has two of the brand new Lifestyle Crafts (f/k/a QuicKutz) alphabet sets for 67% off. You get two letter sets and some banners (which I don't care about) for $20.99 + 3.99 shipping. Each set normally sells for $14.99, so I think it's a good deal. Here's the website, for anyone that's interested: http://scrapace.com/

  140. P.S. I filed a complaint with the BBB yesterday, and the complaint was sent to PTI today. There was only one other complaint listed, that has been settled. Otherwise, no one else has filed a complaint with the BBB. My question to you all is Why? It's super easy to do, and the more complaints against these crooks, the more annoying the BBB will become. I also asked that an investigation be started into whether it's legal for PTI to take our money out of our accounts without actually shipping the product. Guess we'll see what happens with that.

15 days since I ordered, 10 days since I received my "fake" shipping notice, and 5 days since they stole my money out of my account. AND COUNTING!! Just checked USPS again, and still no package in the hands of the USPS. I should be spanked for being so stupid!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  141. For those that are interested in an alternative to PTI cardstock, I ordered directly from the French Poptone manufacturer. Placed my order on the evening of 11/21; received a UPS shipping notice on 11/22 with a projected delivery day of 11/30 - the package arrived yesterday. A day EARLY!! Imagine that!! Their cardstock sells for $16.50 per 100 sheets, which is CHEAPER than PTI, and if you order $200 worth of paper, you get free shipping. Their colors and quality are amazing. I ordered the 100# cover. If you're interested, here's the link: http://www.frenchpaper.com/pop-tone-paper.html

P.S. My order arrived in perfect shape - no bent corners!!

    ReplyDelete
  142. Good for you,2:27. If more people did that, they might be forced to do something other than write long posts about how they have taken our concerns to heart.

2:46, I'd love to know what colors you ordered and if any are matches to PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  143. 4:09, I have most of the Poptone colors, with the exception of the white and cream (but will be ordering the cream when my Vintage Cream runs out).

I did a comparison on the other PTI smack blog, but off the top of my head, here's what I know:

    Blu Raspberry = Hawaiian Shores
Red Hot Red = Pure Poppy
    Black Licorice = True Black
Sno Cone = brighter Aqua Mist (not as green)
    Orange Fizz = Orange Fizz
    Razzleberry = Raspberry Fizz
    Gumdrop Green = New Leaf
Jelly Bean Green is similar to Ripe Avocado, but a little deeper color
Sour Apple is a brighter Spring Moss
Banana Split is similar to Lemon Tart, but a little brighter.
Berrylicious is another option for Aqua Mist, but is a bit bluer.
Pink Bubblegum is similar to Sweet Blush, but not as dull.
Cotton Candy is a lighter version of Hibiscus Burst.
Grapesicle (light) and Grape Jelly (dark) are two purples that are truer purples than Lavendar Moon and Plum Pudding.
Hot Fudge is a much deeper brown than PTI's brown - I feel that it's much richer.
Tangy Orange is an alternative to Terracotta Tile, but is more of a deep, deep orange than a true rust.

The area that the Poptone is lacking is in the navy/blue department. Still searching for an alternative to Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Hill, and Spring Rain.

    Hope this helps!!

    ReplyDelete
  144. Thanks, 5:15. Huge help.

  145. Soooo very interesting from Twitter:

    jenmcguireink Jennifer McGuire
@ @starofmay i wish i could say the same from another company. it is local and i ordered 2.5 weeks ago. not shipped yet! arg.

I know Jennifer lives in Cinncinati...has to be PTI she is alluding to. she is way to nice to call them out though....

    ReplyDelete
  146. PTI is not the only company who takes a long time to ship. I ordered from scrapbook.com once and it took at least 2 weeks to get my order!

    ReplyDelete
  147. 2:22- thanks! That's a great deal. Too bad I don't like the font combo, but I'll keep checking back.
2:17- I wish I knew who you were! ;) I've been on one smaller manu DT but would like to do another. Any advice?

    ReplyDelete
  148. That's true - lots of other companies are super slow to ship ... I had a terrible time with a couple of other online companies.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Joann's, for me, CRAWLS. Especially when they pay for the shipping (which is nearly always now). It's like they figure "slow train through China" is the best way to ship my package.

My cyber monday order says "package will arrive in 7-10 days" so I'm hopeful.

    ReplyDelete
  150. And some eBay and etsy purchases take FOREVER to arrive!

    ReplyDelete
  151. Joanne's really pissed me off with my last order. I ordered several inkpads. When the box arrived, the shipping pillows in it were deflated and all my inkpads were rattling around inside. Only 1 inkpad was damaged, though - the cover was cracked. I requested an exchange.

I contacted CS and....nothing. Contacted again, 8 days later, and they finally sent me a return label for the broken inkpad.

But....I have to wait till they get it to receive my new one.

All that over an $8 petal point inkpad. I'm pissed and may not continue to shop there over this. After all the money I've spent there, I really think they should send me the fucking replacement and eat the $8. I have only returned things to Joanne's once or twice EVER.

Anyway, shitty service is widespread, but that doesn't make it okay.

There are plenty of places with AWESOME customer service. I'd rather even spend a few more bucks at a place with great service - it's worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  152. The French Paper is $16.50 for 50 sheets. How did you get $16.50 for 100 sheets?

    ReplyDelete
  153. WTH is this?!

    "Die restock by December 9th.
We anticipate being able to restock the dies that were out of stock in November by Friday, December 9th."

Soooo... care to share wtf those dies are, PTI?! Seriously? Why not give the names of them in the newsletter? Oh, that would mean they were being thorough and communicating well.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Bahahahahahahaha! LOVE this typo!

    December 10th - 14th: Countdown to Release!
    November 14th: Release Party
    December 15th: Release
    December 25th: Christmas
    December 26th: Blog Hop

    ReplyDelete
  155. ^took me a minute to figure it out :)

    ReplyDelete
  156. I unsubbed from their newsletter quite some time ago - got sick of the OTT "aren't I fantastic" crap from NH. Guess I should sub again for a good laugh or two.

I haven't ordered from them for some time - I used to not be too concerned about ship times even though it took a week to 10 days which is higher than anyone else I've bought from. But now I wanted to order something to make to sell for Christmas. Not taking a chance on them.

I wish Debbie Olson would drop PTI. She's inspiring but I don't want to be inspired to use PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I know, I have always had the utmost respect for Debbie Olsen, but every time I'm reminded that she's associated with PTI it takes her down a notch in my book.

    ReplyDelete
  158. ^^^ Don't let it. Debbie is one of the most genuinely kind persons I "know" in the industry. We aren't besties, but every casual interaction I've had with her has been nothing but great. She's as sweet as they come. Think of her as the exact opposite of NH. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  159. love love love Debbie Olson. She and Danielle Flanders will NEVER receive smack from me. I love basically everything Debbie makes (even though I'm phasing out of card making) and I think Danielle's scrap layouts are fantastic, doable, clean with *just* enough embellishment.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  161. Has anyone tried the new Sizzix Big Shot Pro? Does it cut well?

    ReplyDelete
  162. I love it, no order movement 15 days after ordering! How hard is it to throw the crap in a box, put a label on it and have UPS pick it up or take it to the post office?

Why is it that EVERYONE except Nichole, Julie and Jane realize PTI needs to hire staff during release weeks????

Yeah, how is that "we take all the complaints seriously" working out for you!

Anyone who orders from PTI is a fool!

    ReplyDelete
  163. I know I'm in the minority, but I don't dislike all of Dawn's cards. I think for me, what looks off sometimes are the color combinations. If I had a request it would be to not use so much Raspberry Fizz. However, that may be because I tend to mix in neutrals. Also, I watched the MIM and I have to say I like her voice.

The only DT member that I'm iffy on is Erin Lincoln. I did not like what she posted in the, "coming out," thread.

    ReplyDelete
  164. If you are looking for an alternative to PTI, check out Wplus. Previews begin on her blog today.

    ReplyDelete
  165. ^^^^ Crap, that should be Wplus9

    ReplyDelete
  166. And I will say that I generally get along with people that are blunt and honest very well. I, again, loathe fake people.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I'm blunt. hehe
But what happened, what was said? I missed it. Was there dissing of teh gays? Cos I'm all about teh gay rights. I could go smack a bitch too.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I have the big shot pro. I got it thru Joann last year during a 40% off sale and FREE shipping cuz that sucker is HEAVY!!!

I like it for the large dies, (they are 12x12) but I have found i have to add to the sandwich sometimes to get it to cut. And it is huge, so for day to day cutting, I still use my cuttlebug or big shot.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Oops!! Sorry 7:49 - you're right, it is $16.50 for a ream of 50 sheets. At this point, I don't care if it costs more than PTI cardstock. I'm so over them, and will continue to find vendors with better customer service and comparable products. My guess is that PTI discounts their CS to suck you into buying everything else to match. So sorry for the misinformation.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Didn't Dawn create that Raspberry Fizz color? I could be wrong. Maybe that's why she uses it so much. After awhile, you realize all her stuff looks the same. I go through phases with designers. I love love love what they do, then realize it's the same stuff over and over again.

I agree, Danielle and Debbie are so talented. I do like Betsy Veldman a lot. I wish I could create in that vintage/modern style.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Betsy is one of the few designers whose work always looks fresh to me. Dawn and Pine's atuff all looks alike - same colors, same style time after time.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I just put in our order for PopTones paper this week for my store. We will slowly release 4 colors per month until we carry their entire line (couldn't afford to bring it ALL in yet) We will have the 100 pound in 25 or 50 sheets. Our prices will be:

    12 sheets - $3
    25 sheets - 6
    50 sheets - $11

If you can hold out one more month...we're introducing the Poptone paper, matching inkpads and matching felt. We are introducing 2 new stamps per month too. :)

We're a full service scrapbook and stamping store with over 20,000 products and we offer flat-rate or free shipping. I'd love it if we could earn your business and trust!

    ReplyDelete
  173. Yay 5:53! That's great news!!

Update on my shipment (for those that care) - I ordered on 11/15 at 8:35 AM, received my "fake" shipping notice on 11/21, and the USPS indicates that they received notice that a package was coming on 11/22, but had not received it in their facility until TONIGHT - December 1st!!! So it sat in the PTI warehouse from 11/21 to 12/1 - TEN DAYS!! And SIX days before that. This is the most disgusting display of "I don't give a rip about you as a customer" I have ever experienced. I so hope that my BBB complaint garners some kind of investigation into this crap. They've had my money since 11/25. Such BS!!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Lisa, I'll give your cardstock a try. Let us know when available.

    ReplyDelete
  175. PopTones cardstock is really nice, but they're severely lacking in color choices. I'd love to see them expand a little bit. They could cut back a few of the greens (Spearmint and Limeade are kinda' blah) and the yellows aren't the greatest. There's no navy blue, some rose or burgundy tones would be nice. The 100lb. weight is SO nice, too! I have no use for the 65 lb. Too flimsy.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Yes, please post a link when the paper is available!
Hope there is a sampler pack.....

    ReplyDelete
  177. Looking at the items in the orderes compared on the forum it looks like they all have the alphabet die in common. I think maybe they did run out and are holding orders...

    ReplyDelete
  178. I got my alphabet die, but I ordered early, so that is a valid theory.

    ReplyDelete
  179. It seems to me that if they just would be more open and communicate on the boards, there wouldn't be so much speculation and stirring up of bad feelings. Let's say they did "lose" some orders in the corner of the factory, maybe one way would be to admit the error, apologize, give credit$ for those affected, etc. But instead, with no news, no answers, people - more people than were affected I am guessing - are getting frustrated and angry. Even Ted! Once you piss off Ted you know you got problems!

    ReplyDelete
  180. Exactly. It's silence that kills more than anything, in *every* situation. The less communication people have the more likely they are to lean towards dangerous speculation and once someone starts believing the speculation (no matter how wild) that's where you run in to trouble. The truth might be bad, but the speculation is almost always worse.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Yes you absolutely right Aeryn. Did you see the post speculating their shipping procedure? Their policy on if they ship a package if something is out of stock? People are guessing, then other people read it as the truth.

Why not state the policy? Seems like they are now afraid to say anything or make any decisions. It's a hole they are digging themselves in. Every move will be questioned now.
